“To whom would you refer a loved one or one of your patients for medical diagnosis and/or treatment?” That is the question that colleagues answered recently when they nominated Dr. Ed Clifford, FACS of Surgical Group of North Texas to the list of Texas Super Doctors as one of the top breast surgeons in the area.

Featured in the December, 2009 issue of Texas Monthly, this annual list is a culmination of the top medical talent in Texas. Conducted by Key Professional Media, the company surveys doctors, nurse practitioners and nurse managers. Then an independent panel of esteemed physicians reviews the list of nominees and verifies professional status prior to being included on this prestigious group.

“I am honored to be recognized by colleagues and physicians and would certainly care for them and their patients as my own,” says Dr. Clifford. “I appreciate their recognition and support and I will continue to be passionate about delivering the highest quality care. The greatest reward I enjoy is my interaction with my patients, guiding them through the journey of breast cancer and surgery, and watching them return to fulfilling lives.”

Dr. Clifford is currently the chief of surgery at Baylor Medical Center at Irving and also sees patients at the Baylor Grapevine Women’s Center.  He is a member of both Society of Surgical Oncology and American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr. Clifford went to medical school at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. His surgical training was at St. Paul University Hospital in Dallas where he was Chief Resident his final year.

Dr. Clifford is one of four surgeons that make up the Surgical Group of North Texas, which also specializes in bariatric surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery and oncologic surgery. These doctors of SGNT are both well-respected by their colleagues for their world-class surgical skills and preferred by patients for their personable approach to patient care. They are dedicated to high quality, continual care.
